From Three to Two In A Flash
They grow up fast, and the Mixi convertible kick scooter is ready to grow with them. The two-in-one Mixi gives kids the extra stability of three wheels while they need it, then lets parents switch it up to a standard two-wheel scooter as their child’s confidence and abilities develop.
Ready To Grow
Studies suggest that children at age 3 have the coordination required to use a 3-wheeled scooter, but may not have developed the balance required to operate 2-wheeled scooters. The Kixi Mixi is the perfect ride for youngsters who are almost ready to make this transition. The Mixi’s unique rear wheel assembly makes the process of converting from three wheels to two a snap and, in a matter of minutes, allows your child’s favorite ride to grow up alongside them.
How To: Convert The Kixi Mixi
In this short guide, we’ll show you how to quickly switch the Kixi Mixi from three wheels to two. First up, grab the tools that came with your Kixi product. You’ll need both to make the switch: 5mm Allen Wrench and Wrech (both shown with image from manual) Once you’ve got your tools ready, making the switch is a snap.
3 Wheels to 2
First, remove the right rear wheel using one wrench to hold one end of the double rear axle bolt in place and another to loosen the other end. Once loose, pull the axle bolt out and set the wheels, double rear axle bolt and double rear wheel bushings aside for storage.Next, remove the wheel spacers, then the deck cover. Once the deck cover has been removed, place the wheel spacers back in their original slots. Last, slide one wheel into the deck and slide the single wheel axle bolt through to lock the wheel in place. Using two 5mm Allen wrenches, tighten the single wheel axle bolt by again holding one end in place while tightening the other. 2 Wheels to 3Once again, the first step is to remove the wheel using one Allen wrench to hold one end of the single rear axle bolt in place and another to loosen the other end. Once loose, pull the axle bolt and set the wheels, single rear axle bolt and single rear wheel bushings aside for storage. Next, remove the wheel spacers and slide the deck cover into place. Once the deck cover has been installed, place the wheel spacers back in their original slots. Last, slide the double wheel axle bolt through one wheel, then through the wheel spacers and deck. Once it has been threaded through, slide the other wheel on from the opposite side. Using two wrenches, tighten the double wheel axle bolt by again holding one end in place while tightening the other. Once complete, roll the scooter to ensure there is no play in the wheels. If you notice any play or wobbling, tighten the axle bolts until the wheels roll true. Recommended for ages 3 and older and will support a rider up to 45 pounds. The buyer and rider of the Razor scooter are responsible for knowing and obeying all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the riding and use of scooters.
